Tape is applied because it: 1) Keeps the plate on the drum in case of a power outage. 2) Keeps TE of plate from lifting due to Debris removal suction. Make sure the end of the plate is covering the last vacuum groove fully. Apply tape to trailing edge. The load is complete so far - ie. the plate is on the drum.
